About me

I am a Texas girl, born and raised in Amarillo.  I graduated from Caprock High School in 1999 and completed my Associates at Amarillo College in 2001, while I battled thyroid cancer.  I earned my BAAS from the University of North Texas in 2003 with a teaching certification in Office Education.  I was hired on at Dunbar Middle School in 2003 and started grad school at Texas Tech University.  I taught Computer Applications and Keyboarding for two years before resigning to complete my Masters in Instructional Technology.  I graduated in 2006 and took a job as an Instructional Systems Specialist for the Department of Defense at Ft. Sill.  I hated leaving Texas, but soon developed a routine in Oklahoma.  Soon after starting my job I found out that my cousin had died while serving in Iraq when his Apache helicopter went down.  That was a very difficult time, but soon after that I met my husband, who was attending a class.  After he graduated and the wedding, in 2008, we decided to move back to Texas.  He started the police academy and I was hired on at Eastfield, where I am the Instructional Technology Facilitator and work with faculty to incorporate technology and assist in the development of their courses.  In 2009 we found out I was pregnant and bought a house.  Parker was born in April 2010 a little earlier than expected. We also have a chocolate lab, Major.

I am truly blessed.
